At the Brighton Riding Stable we offer trail rides year-round 'weather permitting'. Come take a peaceful ride through the serene bridle trails at Brighton Recreation State Park. We have trail rides for all ages..handled trail rides for families with children under 8 years old and hour long trail rides for everyone over 8 years old. We do have a weight restriction of 240lbs as our horses can only carry up to 20% of their total body weight.
We do not canter or gallop on any of our trail rides. If you would like to canter, you may sign up for the group lessons program where you will do lots of safe and fun stuff on horseback! See our Lessons page for more info.

Hours of operation are:
Summer (May 25th - September 7th) open 7 days a week; Mon-Sat 10am-6pm with evening and night rides available by appt. Sundays 10am-5pm
Fall (September 8th - November 14th) Open Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10am-6pm. Wednesday Specials by Reservation Only.
Closed to trail riding November 15th - November 30th (hunting season) Arena Lessons still available.
Winter (Dec 1st - Feb 28th) by reservation only. 24 Hour Notice Required.
Spring (March 1st - May 24th) Open Fri., Sat. and Sun. 10am-6pm (weather permitting). Weekdays by Reservation

Riders must arrive 20-30 minutes early for their reservation for horse assignments. If riders do not arrive at least 15 minutes prior to ride time, the trail ride may be sent out to ensure rides continue as scheduled. Walk ups, if any will have priority over late arrivals at 15 minutes to ride time.

Cowboy Trail Ride Our standard 1 hour Trail Ride is easy enough for beginners ages 8 to adult, but enjoyable enough for the more experienced. This trail ride is a walk only with some difficult terrain.Must be 8 years and older and a weight restriction of 240lbs is enforced. $28 per rider.
Night Ride This is a great experience for experienced riders ages 12 to adult.Enjoy a sunset ride for 1-1/2 hours riding one of our horses as our friendly guides take you through the wooded trails. Return in the dark to cook hotdogs and smores over the campfire.This ride is by reservation only.Minimum 4 riders. $38 per rider.
Trail Tour Ride For the full cowboy experience for adults and experienced riders only. Reservations are a must for this 2 hourride, available weekdays.Must be 12 years and older and a weight restriction of 240lbs is enforced. This ride will not be offered in the winter. Minimum 2 riders. $48 per rider.
Family Trail Ride This trail ride is for families with cowpokes ages 2 & up that are not ready to control their horses on the trail. Families will enjoy a 15 minute scenic ride down the trail and through our ghost town. $15per rider.
Pony Rides Pony Rides are offered for the young cowpokes not ready for the trail. All ages are welcome to take a ride on our kid-friendly horses. Walk-ins are welcome. $5 per rider.
Reservations are strongly recommended and some restrictions do apply.There is a 240lb weight restriction for trail rides and a minimum age of 8 years old.There are hand-led pony rides for our young riders under 8 years and hayrides for all.
